How did Barbie Hsu really die in Japan? Japanese Nurse shares...

On 29 January 2025, during the Chinese New Year holiday, Taiwanese celebrity Barbie Hsu (also known as Big S, not ass) travelled with her family to Central Japan. She died in Tokyo on 2 February 2025, at the age of 48.

The cause of her death was largely reported as pneumonia induced by influenza complications.

Yet in early May 2025, a Japanese nurse that was part of her emergency response team remarks that when Barbie Hsu was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment, she was still conscious and capable of speaking and breathing on her own; different from media reports of her passing out on a stretcher and definitely in no need of mechanical ventilatiors; given her young age, she should have survived the ordeal.

Friends close to Barbie Hsu's family shares that she has a history of heart problems from a young age and they suspect that cardiac complications may be the real cause of Barbie Hsu's death that her family was reluctant to make public.  

Barbie Hsu had a final phone call with best friend Christine Fan Weichi (FanFan) before passing away.
